This alternate universe of Once Upon A Time follows canon until the flashback episode Tallahassee, eleven years prior to the beginning of the series, when August Booth approaches Neal with the intent of making him betray Emma to the police. Instead, Neal refuses to abandon her, and instead he strikes a deal with August to cash the watches and leave Portland. Neal promises to tell Emma about her true origin in time for her 28th birthday, but insists it will be her choice whether she wants to go to Maine and break the curse imposed on Storybrooke. They later find out that Emma is pregnant, and when Henry is born, they raise him together as a family. When Neal reveals his origins to Emma on her birthday, Emma decides that they, along with Henry, will go to Storybrooke to see if August's claims are true.

This Time Imperfect
Starting from August's reveal in Tallahassee, the beginning point of this AU. Neal refuses to leave Emma, and Neal and August strike a deal. August visits them a year later in Vancouver, BC.

Happens By Design
Neal, Emma and Henry arrive in Storybrooke to verify August's claims about the curse. Neal sees his father, Rumpelstiltskin, for the first time in over 300 years as Mr Gold, who doesn't recognize him.
